PLAY SENIOR LEAGUE (U16)

Intermediate League (IL) and Junior League (JL) Games are run by the Gold Coast Baseball Association (GCBA). Games are played in a Home and Away format. Team Sizes are 9 on the field plus bench players up to 10 or 11 players in total.

IL and JL divisions are a developmental bridge between Little League and Senior League. The field size is still slightly reduced from the full size but the full rules apply, runners can “take leads”, but can also be “picked off”, “balks” are introduced.

SEASON

The season usually consists of 9 to 10 Saturdays in School Term 4 with another 6 to 7 Saturdays in Term 1 after school returns from the Christmas break.

There are no games or training during school holidays depending on the club.

TOURNAMENTS

The GCBA enters teams in the State Championships each year and then on to the Australian National Championships. The GCBA and its club's continue to provide some of the best baseball training and education in the state.

During the Christmas break players can be selected into teams to play in the local GCBA Summer Classic. Teams from around Australia and the New Zealand participate in this tournament and forms the start of the representative season.

VOLUNTEERS

Every club needs coaches, assistant coaches, scorers, team managers, umpires and field setup. Talk to your club about how you can help support your children's team.
