GCBOA Community Umpire Clinics - Summer 2024/25

The GCBOA is running two community umpiring clinics for the upcoming season.

Interested in umpiring? Want the best seat in the house?

Dates: 16th September and 30th September, 2024 (Attend one or the other)

Venue: Surfers Paradise Baseball Club, Diamond 2

What to Bring: Runners, shorts & t-shirt.

Complete the personal details form (see below), and you'll leave with an umpire's shirt!

Time: 6pm to around 8pm

Cost: Free !! The club will cover it.

What's Involved:

Complete an AIS Module

Provide personal details via a form (takes 1 minute)

Attend the on-field course

Complete the umpire's exam

Summer 2024/25 Scoring Clinic

Another scoring clinic is being offered on the Gold Coast on Sunday 8 September. From beginning to Level 1 & 2 at the Coomera Baseball Club from 9.00 am. Bring your pencils and your questions and start your scoring journey!

There is no cost for the clinic - just a bit of time. Come along and get information and some study tools to take away with you.

ASSOCIATION QBUA UMPIRE SEMINAR FOR 2024

Queensland Baseball Association Inc. will be hosting its annual Brisbane Association accreditation seminar Saturday the 7th of September to Sunday the 8th of September.

Association accreditation allows you to umpire all levels of club and regional level baseball in Australia and is the minimum requirement to umpire most levels of senior baseball in Queensland. This accreditation is valid for three years.

WHEN

Saturday 7 September 9:00AM - 3:00PM

Sunday 8 September 9:00AM - 12:30PM

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start time to confirm registration. Umpires renewing their Association accreditation are not required Sunday.

WHERE

Hendra All-Stars Baseball Club, 116 Gerler Road Hendra

WHAT TO BRING

Athletic shoes, cap, water bottle

Optional - umpire pants, umpire mask

Lunch provided on Saturday

COST

Attending the Association course usually has no personal cost and clubs are invoiced for their attendees.

Get Ready for the 2026/27 Gold Coast Baseball Season

The 2026/27 Gold Coast baseball season is almost here, and now is the perfect time to find your local club and get involved!

Whether you’re picking up a glove for the first time, returning for another season or looking for a new sporting community, baseball offers opportunities for players of all ages and experience levels.

2026/27 Season Start Dates

Junior season: Saturday, 10 October 2026
Adult season: Sunday, 11 October 2026

From introductory junior programs through to competitive and social adult baseball, there is a place for everyone within the Gold Coast Baseball Association.

Each club provides a welcoming environment where players can learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and enjoy being part of the baseball community.

New to Baseball?

No previous experience is needed to get started. Clubs cater for beginners and experienced players, with junior programs introducing the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, catching and base running in a fun and supportive environment.

Adults can also get involved, whether they are experienced players, returning to the game or trying baseball for the first time.

Baseball clubs also rely on the support of volunteers. There are plenty of ways for parents, family members and supporters to participate through coaching, scoring, umpiring, managing teams or helping around the club.
